Happy to connect you with a couple of my people: Case Western Reserve University -- I've heard they do this really well. Cleveland Clinic has an entirely different program that's really interesting. After recycling disruptions in 2019, they built a new specialized stream they call "purple bag recycling". The program is opt-in for laboratories, clinical operating rooms, and office spaces. They have an in-house sorting system, partnering with a Cleveland Clinic workforce training program for young adults with cognitive disabilities. They negotiate all of their contracts with materials recyclers and communicate any updates or noncompliance issues with the participants of the purple bag recycling program.
